Who Qualifies
Is Your Child Eligible for the CFEF Scholarship?
The Carson Smith Opportunity Scholarship is designed for Utah families of children with disabilities. Your child may qualify if they meet all of the following:
Ages 3 to 21
Students must be between 3 and 21 years old at the time the scholarship is used.
Documented disability
Student has a documented disability as defined by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Utah resident
Student resides in Utah with a custodial parent or legal guardian throughout the scholarship year.
Not enrolled in public/charter
Student may not be enrolled in a public or charter school during the scholarship year (enrollment at application is allowed).
Students currently receiving the legacy Carson Smith Scholarship or the Utah Fits All Scholarship are not eligible to receive another scholarship in the same year. Always confirm the latest eligibility on the official CFEF site before applying.
